Found a cheap and quick fix for some framing blues I had. I finally found some SUPER-ON-SALE frames at the craft store that fit these two large mounted darkroom prints I've had for…oh almost a decade now, it seems. The problem was, they were out of black in that special size, and since I always side with black, it was a nice departure from the norm to convince myself to do something different. So I sprung for the apricot frames but quickly realized they just weren't going to work over our bed after all. So I experimented with the blotting sponge and painted the front surface black all the way around the front edge of the frame. The apricot still shows on the other edges, and it adds some depth and dimensional interest to the frames. So far, we're liking them just fine.
